ok - you da man ! thanks for the release !

I'm testing locally. I've got the first thing figured out - you can Edit the 2nd tier of gun classes but until you LEAVE the server and REJOIN, you won't get that saved class's items.

nope, its coming together .. great stuff on that editable in game loadout !

Are the LR weapons still in development over at TC?  

How many of the V1 configs can be copied over?  Are there particular ones to pay attention to due to changes?

Thanks Joker and to the extreme+ team for putting the time into developing this mod for the community. We definitely appreciate it!  I imagine you wanted to hold off releasing it a bit longer.  But then these mods are usually work in progress anyways *lol*  

I promise to try my best in not asking too many stupid questions now *lol*

how many?  NONE -- fresh install guys -- alot of the configs have extensive changes

At this point and time, I don't think there will be, however, only time will tell.  Creating a mod for CODWW is much more difficult then X4 was ;)

Knowing this, this is why we are making every attempt at making everything customizable as much as we can

The weapons settings is really grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
1  - how to disable  a weapon/perks ? : must add // front of line or set ex_thompson " " (without number)
2 - I allowed  pistols on few class but they are not enable but i have the picture with pistol on screen which say me i have pistol as 2sd weapon.

and a lot of other thing but i m to tired now !!! loool.

First stupid question - Is the Long Range weapons part of the TC Weapons z_tc5 iwd in the Options folder of V1?   I'm trying to figure out if I need to change any of the weapon files in the main iwd to accomdate higher bullet damage/sway etc.

One other question - In the Ambient config for the Flak/Artillery settings, it makes mention = "If 'Anti-Aircraft effects' is enabled in
the ambient planes section...."     Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but where is the Ambient 'Planes' settings at?    Hopefully that wasn't stupid question #2 *lol*

Does this mean that the tracers, artillery and flak won't work?   I haven't finished configuring the mod yet.

Hey Joker...thanx...I didn't know I could speak Greek Swahili till i started going thru....oops that's right, my server show I can't lol...

All looks great so far, thnx tons.

Now for the embarassing part.....as I've not seen anyone else with this yet....only the extra headshot and slash points are being awarded....i left the scoring system alone on the config so they should come up with the original 10 points for a kil.....or in my haze did I miss something. I was running TDM on the 3 maps, crash, estate78....and the third escapes me right now.

So the wpnctl.cfg was your way of getting back at all of us hounding you when it would be done....very ingenious.....lol

I managed to get 10 custom loadouts created, but I can't seem to figure out how to make them changeable, so that a client could change the weapons and perks on any of the given custom classes.

Would this option be controlled here -

I'm still trying to figure out how to turn off the undesirable weapons and perks options.  I tried removing the 1234567890 class designations, removed the // to make sure it was recognized.  But All weapons and most of the perks are showing up. I'm not even sure how I got Jugger and Double Tap to turn off.  I think I somehow having it run in ranked as I'm level 65.

One thing i found that works for wpns is lock out a particular class...I used 10 so it can't be accessed.


Then assign the unwanted wpns to just that class number.  However, it doesn't work for work for preventing unwanted perks.

It says right here:

So take this:

and make it this:

Should be same for Weapons

Joker et al,

Many many thanks for keeping these games fresh, new and exciting to play. Hats off to all of you for your hard work and diligence!

A few "problems" that I am too stupid to figure out..
1) The map choices don't seem to be highlighted though the gamtype choices are...
2) After the map voting the message comes up as to which was the winner, and then the **** server just goes back to the beginning of the maprotation and starts the first map again.
3) The score says tied at 0 of 1200 and never changes, though if you press the F4 key you can see the scores.

I think I remember this map quirky thing awhile ago but damned if I can remember how to fix it.

Joker, something interesting...

I took the ex_mapvote.gsc from v1 and renamed the v2 with .bak.... reloaded the server memory and it is now working. I don't know too much about all this, but it appears from my neophyte standpoint that it has something to do with the new "classes." When I did a file comparison between the two versions it seemed that all the changes in that file had to do with class this or class that...

Anyway, I do have that working, though probably not the right way. It does however answer the question of whether or not map files are working or not...

The only major thing at this point that I can see is the scoring issue. Will the download that you mentioned above fix that?

for some reason the perks double tap , reconnaissance and bomb squad doesn’t let you select them and extreme conditioning shows up like this perks_exeme_conditioning in the menu

i have checked the weaponcontrol.cfg for a setting and i havent seen one in there

Yet again this is looking excellent, thanks for all the hard work in getting this out!

Only 2 real problems i seem to be having and one is down to a mistake by me in the config i think

Mini-map is always on and you can see enemies (this i am sure is down to me so will go over the configs again today)

The other one which im not sure is a bug or something at my end set incorrectly is that when you first join and you are waiting for your custom loadouts to load they sometimes dont, the player is just sat waiting endlessly, if the player disconnects then reconnects then they seem to go straight in as the loadouts take about 3 seconds to load.
This doesnt seem to effect every player some ppl's loadouts load straight away some ppl's dont but if they disconnect and reconnect they almost certainly load the next time without issue.

The only thing i have changed for the loadouts is the slot name and slots 1 - 5 i have unlocked. Other than that the custom loadouts are default.

Just thought i would make you aware of this (if not already) incase someone else has the problem, although i havent seen anything about this mentioned by anyone else.

EDIT:

I have just been reminded of one i forgot to ask about  :roll: When players type chat in the server the txt appears in the top left of the screen, this results in it getting coverd by recon, is there setting to switch the txt position to its original place in the middle on the left hand side? I am searching as i type this but have not found anything as of yet.

looks like when you fist download the mod , everything is setup by default with

enemy allways showing on radar
not knowing when you hit some one, no cross hair, we had no idea that we was hitting anyone untill they just dropped on the ground.
we tryed to pick certain guns , and they show up in the load out , but when in the game you dont have them.

i have not changed anything @ all just started with all default settings.

is this mod really aimed @ hardcore game types now?

is there a setting i can turn on to just have the guns back to the way they was ?

There are trouble with Pistol.
They are on class but you can't select them on map (when you press 1 to change weapon nothing happens)

There are a few settings now for showing the emeny or the Red Dot's

Hi all

New problems :

1 - It is not possible to die !!! loool - I tried with nade, with falldamage with ennemy, bash.... nothing happens. I don't know Why !!!!!

2 - With class : I create a class for each team (USA, German, Russian and Jap) At start of game all is ok. Each team see only his class. But when  i start US switch to German (example) all is ok also but if i want to re-switch US. The special German class is enable on board class weapon for US.
(I hope i m clear)

3 - There are no intermission beetween maps and my comand line is good : set scr_intermission_time "20" (without //) - Nota this line is twice 1 on server.cfg and on mapcontrol.cfg

2 - Use force autoassign is the only way I know of now to keep this from happening

I got this problem back on cod4 and it was down to the command line, i would give it a double check.

Lately what I am seeing with this complaint is the Spawn Protection.

People that dont want it or dont use it are setting the Spawn Protection Time to 0 -- which is correct

However, there is alittle bug in the script that does not recognize 0 ((instead it makes  you Inviincible))

So quick fix, is to set it to atleast 1 and problem solved -- for now

Sorry about the complexity of it,  I am looking to build a few different class setups so you can download and use as you wish... I have also been talking with Joker about building some different default setups,  like a Tactical config set, Sniper Config, and as much as it pains me to say this... as RNG config setup....  :oops:  

You see how I have to compromise my ethics just to keep you all happy..... :x

Anyway, thanks for the support and I hope this mod and the work the crew has done works out for you all... I will add that this mod is enormous and from the X4 mod to this we have added probably about 6,000 lines of code.... not to mention all the changed code, menus etc.  

So you had better enjoy it.... :lol:

2 - I m using clan privilege to choose team and autoassign ofr other. i 'll remove the privilege to see if it works.

4  - For Chiblue : The incoveniant is that file is not easy to read so it is harder to set. Weapons are mixed also perks. it would be nice to arrange weapons and perks as in the game. We'll see better. I did and I have less time to make settings.

Sorry buddy, as I told you in MSN, the time delay is because the server is reading the files on your computer.  Everyone's custom classes are stored there in the mpdata file ;) That is how we managed to retain those players settings.

The Weapon Loadouts are VERY extensive, so no, there is no way to go back.  Opps, yes there is, run v1.0 *LOL*

Couple of bugs we have found.. Sorry for repeats.


1. using the edit to customize a class does not always work. I will pick the perks I want and set it while in game. Re spawn and you have noting but your primary weapon and sometimes the pistol.  However can pick up and use nades from the map. I did not alter any of the weapon load outs in the weapons config file.

2. The spawn protection punishment script doesn't seem too be working.  Here is a cut and paste from the spawn protection settings I have in the config. sorry it is so long.

Just to clarify,

What would be the average amount of time to wait for the custom loadouts to load?

Sometimes they will load in a matter of seconds or even a minute which isnt really a problem but sometimes they wont load at all and disconnecting and re-connecting is the only way to get into the game as they load straight away if a player does that. I have waited over 5 mins and they havent loaded so disconnected and reconnected and got straight in.

Would just like some confirmation on whether this is normal or whether it is possibly something i have set wrong.

Really strange because when i start the game the 1st time with new mod this problem does not exist. I had same setings for spawnprotection. EDIT : Huuumm..I test with old _ex_weapons.gsc It is the same thing :  Impossible to die. HEEELP !! :cry:

The base config that is shipped with the game gives the standard loadouts,  and the standard custom loadouts,  this is about as close as you can get to the base version of the loadouts.  I tell you we tried and the coding got so complex, not to mention the cfg files it was near impossible.  Apart from the ranking based weapons you can similute the loadouts to be very similar,  but as I say, if you want ranked weapons, sorry...

Although, and Joker will probably beat about the head for telling you this I am working on an Extreme ranking system that will allow you to define your own ranks and what players get at each rank as far as weapons, perks and other nice things like extra health, increased damage on weapons, larger damage area for grenades... woops said to much already....  sorry Joker...

soldat_ryan -- The problem start after to  load the new anticamp and zoom  level file  (after this problem ) -- the Anticamp/zoom has nothing to do with the spawn protection m8.  That fix was to include the Sniper weapons into the weapons GSC

JOKER, I FOUND IT !!!!! YEPEE YEAAAAH !!!!!

I test files after filse (all cfg - 1 by 1).
I start and stop the server after each modification !!!
Finally i found the bug after 2 hours of test.

The problem come from this command (playercontrol.cfg) :

// stops any damage when hip shooting
// 0 = allow damage
// 1 = stop any damage
set ex_hipshotstopdamage "1"  

If you set with 1 you can't die !!!

Not only for hipshot but for all death possible !!! looool

Not just your server Mooton - there seems to be some lose of communication between the player and server - everyones custom class is saved not on the server, but in their mpdata file for that particular server.  So when a returning player joins, the server requests the info from that player, it seems to hang when the player does not respond to the server, so the server leaves the player in Limbo so to speak.

I have found that if your AV is updating, or you are downloading something, or your ISP is just really slow or intermittent, or your network traffic has a problem, these seem to be the most common so far.

However, we are taking another look at the coding (all 6,000+ lines of it) to make sure it is not the coding :)

Thanks for the reply Joker m8 that is fair enough, its just good to know that there isnt really anything i can do (or of screwed up lol).

Thats a lot of code though! You guys clearly put a lot of time and effort into this mod (and the others), i for one really appreciate these mods, you guys do a great job.

x5v2 is looking pretty dam awesome, all i will do to try and prevent ppl getting stuck in "limbo" is change the wait message with instructions to disconnect recoonect if it is not loading so as long as ppl can read should be ok lol

Hi Joker,

I load the new _class.gsc !
The pistol works fine !!.....but (  :twisted: ) I have an other problem (maybe other guys also) : The nades

On my class i set this :
set ex_Class6_Primary_Grenade_count "2"
set ex_Class6_Special_Grenade_count "2"
All is OK i have 2 nades for each count

But if i set like this :
set ex_Class6_Primary_Grenade_count "1"
set ex_Class6_Special_Grenade_count "2"
I have ONLY 1 nade for both count.

(I m always with patch1.3)
About this : Any adea about patch1.4 for dedi linux? (I know it isnot the good section for this but.... ;) )

I have the latest version 2

And here what we are experiencing

a) once in a while everybody get stock just before the weapon loadout, to make it work faster we go out and come back..
b) on 2 maps tonight class were not available, when you press escape, and it was the same at the same time with all player...
c) when you make a kill with scope, you dont have the writing on the bottom left like all other kill, and no head shot either with scope...
I have to mention that I have Long Range

We are setting up the new x5 on one of our servers at |EAS| We can't seem to get the hud to not show for hardcore mode. We believe that we have all the settings correct but if you can let me know what ones we need?

The Betty's,and Molotov's don't work. Also the Bomb Squad,Reconnaissance,and Double Tap perks did not work.  

If the fix for these is posted else where I apologize. I did not see them.

I see what you are doing but you should not have to do this,  one of the major development efforts we went through was to build the ability to turn on and off weapons and perks by class.  You should be able to turn of both weapons and perks by setting the dvar value to nothing... i.e.

Firstly, the stuck issue,  we recognize that this is an issue we are not sure why at this time,  but we have put a work around in so that at worst you will wait for 20 seconds and then get the class screen,  I will continue to look to find this bug... it is a little hard to find as the problem only occurs on busy servers,  and even then it's intemitent.

Secondaly, your scope issue, sorry but Joker is the scope expert, so I won't even try and answer that one...  finally, 2 classes not working on 2 maps, this I would suggest to check the map rotation string,  to ensure that you have all class defined i.e. class "1234567890"  or remove the class from the rotation  will always give all classes and is better for performance.  

Also when you get a long wait to load the classes can you send me your console_mp.cfg file, there maybe something else going on?

If by hud you mean the mini map,  then check that you have both the following set..

set ex_force_minimap 0         // 0=mini-map only on UAV, 1=mini-map on always
set ex_minimap_enemyping 0         // Show Enemies 0=No, 1=Yes

I you set ex_minimap_enemyping 1, then you will still get the minimap,  this is becuase of a left over from the base game, when enemy ping is set this overrides the ex_force_minimap... Try this, in face this sets g_compassShowEnemies which in the base game will show the minimap,  but by it's nature you cannot switch off enemies from showing all the time...

Hi Chiblue

It's going great buddy, just to be more specific, we played a lot more last night after my post and many were expience it to, you play and you want to change Class..... press esc.... then you see all option Choose Class, Team etc.......... What happen to me a few time while playing, i press esc to have another Class at the next respawn.... I see Choose Class but as soon I bring my mouse over it  dissapear and the option is not there anymore... ( i'm running XP ) I would without been absolutely sure the problem appear every 2 to 3 maps, then it start working well again, 2 or 3 map later the same.

And many player were telling me that they did not have the option in there list, ( I would say most of them are running Vista ) and we were all in the same map when those comment came up...

LOL as for the scope it's really not a big issue, it need to be address but not like the Load-Out, Scope are working well and kill and death are working also, it's just the writing ( so and so kill this guy at a distance of 3 inchs....lol ) we dont have that when we use scope, and i guess when they solve this the head shot with scope will work.

Impressive work you did there guys, really appreciate.

I too am running a Bolt Rifles server.  I have not been able to turn off the same perks you mentioned, nor do Molotov 's work.  I have managed to turn off and keep turned off all autos and semi autos, including pistols.  However, on a few classes, for some reason when you go to Edit the class and you select the Bolt Rifles menu, sometimes (not always) the only available weapon to choose is the PTRS.  If you exit the class edit, then re-enter it, all the Bolt Rifles will be there.

for me the difference with version 1 is not yet worth upgrading, but i hope so when the bomb is in and all sniper guns have a zoom.

First of all I would like to say this is a sweet mod guys.  Having alot of fun setting this up.  Tweaking all the goodies now for about 6 hours 8O

I just retested this after installing Joker's mod.ff (update 4-12-09)

Problem with weapon not deploying after landing. (setting 0,1,2)
What does work to cure this is to hop.  Once landed and spawn protection expires we hop and all weapons become active.  Sorta sounds silly I know, but it works.

Just to let you guys know,

The fixes you guys have released seem to improve things but some are still there.

1. People still get stuck on the loading weapon loadouts screen (this is still occurring after uploading new mod.ff to server and redirect).

2. When editing a loadout it doesnt always work, your chosen weapons appear in the loadout list but you are without ur perk 1 and secondary weapon (if using overkill) u just have a pistol, this is sometimes cured by leaving the server and coming back in.

3. Ingame chat co-ordinates dont seem to stay, for instance i set them so they were in the bottom 3rd of the screen but after a few minutes ingame chat moved to the top left of the screen (not a biggie).

This is by no means a moan or complaint, just trying to give u guys a heads up!

Thanks for all the hardwork, this mod is looking excellent and im sure once all teething issues are ironed out it will be!

Hi Guys,

Firstly, GREAT JOB ON THE MOD!!

However, like the others, we have the following issues:

1.  Select Class disappears after a short while.  I have noticed the Menu Highlighting is out of wack.  The Highlight appears at the top of the Screen NOT on the actual item.  I wonder if this is part of the issue - a corrupt Menu description/pos setting in code.
2.  Secondary Weapon ala Pistols are not working at all.  You can however pickup another Gun which will then become secondary.
3.  Perk 1 ie satchel, betty, etc. dont seem to be available after editing a class, adding them, and then using the class.  If you leave the game and come back, you usually then have them available when playing.

Appart from the above, everything else is great.  Clan loves it.  Well done.

PS: As Joker warned and others have said, the Weapons files is a Bitch ;)

DeathWarmedUp, did you get the latest release,  the menu highlighting was an issue but we resolved this one,  also the pistols not working is in the latest release.  

The select class issue is a new one,  we seem to have a problem in the mod with classes when you go to change class ingame,  ie use the ESC key.  I believe I know what is happening with this but need a little time to test me theory.   Due to the nature of the class and loadouts,  there is a lot of traffic going to the client game and we have to build in some pauses to allow this to happen.  I have found that when you press ESC ingame and select change class there is no pause and the client does not get properly updated which is why classes appear and disappear.  As I said I am looking into it.

As far as the chat position,  this is I believe is due to someone using the ingaqme score,  the ingame score menu resets this ingame chat position,  I override this but I guess I must have missed some place that needs the update... forcedvars here I come...lol..

I downloaded it Saturday 11th April at 2:37PM QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA time from the Sweden mirror as, if I recall, the USA one didnt work at that time.  So, I probably have the previous version by the looks.  MP_X5.iwd is dated 4/3/2009 (US date format).

I have just downloaded again using the USA link and will report back the results.

Just 1 problem: enemies don't display as a red dot when they shoot.  I tried adding:

Hi again Chi,

Ok, the latest Mod has fixed the Select Class issue BUT now all players are getting Lag/Glitch spikes in game.  Also, when joining, some players (myself included), get stuck with the "Please Wait Loading Class Info" "Wow this is taking a while".  So, the previous version of mod.ff didnt lag and only one or two players got the Class timeout.  Now the new one, half the players (say 6 out of 12) are timing out.  Only way out is to Leave the game and rejoin.

Note that this is happening when it switches Map.  I realise there is going to be a lot of info passing at this time as all players are going to be loading classes.  Let me know if I can give more info.

I you set ex_minimap_enemyping 1, then you will still get the minimap,  this is becuase of a left over from the base game, when enemy ping is set this overrides the ex_force_minimap... Try this, in face this sets g_compassShowEnemies which in the base game will show the minimap,  but by it's nature you cannot switch off enemies from showing all the time...

RSF Clan tried to go to your server to test, but each of the 3 downloads did not work.  It went to download the mod.ff and nothing happened, and then it went to the iwd to download and same as mod.ff, and same for 3rd file.  Then COD6 crashed to Desktop displaying the error " the mod.ff is either corrupt or damaged"  Let us know when it is repaired and we will try again.  

P.S. This happened to each of us that tried to connect to the server.

Yeah sorry about that Joker, I do apologize.  I didn't know when you'd get around to help cuz  I know you're busy.  I wanted to go through an alternate mod for the time being to see if it had features we were looking for.  As you probably can guess, I can certainly flip it back to extreme for futher testing.  My plans for this weekend. I was running out of time during that holiday weekend and needed to look at alternatives.

I just about the test server above...defenately going to check it out.  Parachutes enabled?  Thanks for you replies.

LR weapons are modified files that are available in the Optional_Stuff folder aswell as the TheCompany's website.

The scriptting inside the mod to make LR rifles recognize headshots, etc, etc I have NOT done yet

I re-upped the 041409 files as is to my test server and it runs fine, whereas before it would hang up on the makin_day map, took that out, and then it hung up on makin.  Thats when i put up the 041409 files. THanks Joker :D

Joker m8,

I visited your server last night, the game failed to download the mod first time it just hung when looking for it. I disconnected and reconnected and then it downloaded fine though.

I didnt have any issues getting stuck on the loading weapon loadouts screen but i was the only one in at the time, when i edited my class and picked my perk 1 and secondary weapon i did get the problem of it only taking effect after leaving and reconnecting. Other than that it seemed to run pretty smooth, ill keep popping in from time to time so i can try and get in when other players are in there. Although with being in the UK i did have a ping of 200 lol

Don't know about prestige but i cant really see any benefit from having prestige, you already have 10 custom slots with version 2 of the mod, apart from a different medal by ur name there's no real difference imo.

Yea, the server is really really low end and it is located at my home, but for the part of testing, it does the trick :)

Hummm....sorry but...

There are an other problem with chat position :

i set it this way :

Hey guys

I tried the latest fix for the weapon loadout....

a) - Once in a while you'll get in the server and you will have the timer count down, if the count down goes all the way down to 0, then it brings you to the loadout, but you cant choose nothing and you start having connection interuption on the server ( connection interuption stop when the problem player quit only, if the problem player stay everybody is having problem untill he leave)

b) - When a game go smooth once in a while you press escape to choose another class, and the option is not there at all..

c) - We were 6 playing on that server yesterday, and 2 members and regulars tried to join 3 and 4 times and they could not get in at all they were stuck after the countdown... I had to restart the server for them to join.

Wonder from what I hear that some server does not have problem at all, if it is because we are set as HARDCORE and not oldschool....

This is something we are aware of, the LR stats etc is not fixed yet, but the DevCrew is working on it.

Just wanted to drop a note and thank everyone for the updates and fixes, I just installed them on my test server and it is running much better and smoother.

Still having sniper scope zoom issues on some weaps but I think I can fix that by adding their names to the gsc file. Just off the top of my head I noticed that the PTSR would zoom but the m1 with a scope will not.



Again thanks to all of you this mod is really shaping up nicely.  :P

I have a problem with the X5 2.0 Mod, seem to get a lot of connection interuptions this takes place when players connect and when maps rotate.

We are running a sniper server with 4 custom slots sniper rifles only.

working on trying to get bolt action sniper only going, No matter how I set the weaponcontrol.cfg it still allows people to edit their sniper class and pick any weapon, perks, and nades.


Any one have a bolt only sniper cfg they would not mind sharing?

This has been a problem since COD1 m8, and always will be.

Only solution I have found is to script spawn points using XYZ corrdinates but it takes hours to do for a single map

The thing is the xtreme mod then shoots more accurate..

so no sniper mod exists on xtreme? because with spawning issue you cant play...

Hey Joker, I was just wondering if you had a chance to look at the enemy not being displayed on the radar when the enemy shoots their weapon?  I don't mean to bug, but it seems players won't play on our server cuz the enemy is not showing up.

Time to add to Jokers agony (and baldness)..


Have an issue I can not resolve.

I have set black screen on death to prevent players from spectating who shot them then going for the cheap revenge kill. I found the setting in playercontrol.cfg and set it to 1. Any way as you may have guessed by now it is not working. When some one dies they have free spectator. Is there another place in the mod too set this? Or is it just a bug?

Here is what I have for the black screen setting in the cfg.

I love this mod but nobody else can enjoy it. I have a redirect setup but everytime some1 goes to download off server the redirect gets bypassed with a DL file marked mods/x5v20. I guess my question is how can I get my redirect to work right? When i changed it to your redirect link it still bypass it and goes to the mods/x5v20 file for download.

Help this is driving me crazy!

We tested it just now, and it still does not work.

We have now had to go back to X5 Version #1, until a fix can be found for enemies showing up on radar when they shoot.

Greetings and thanks for these great eXtreme mods.

I have been patiently reading along through these threads hoping answers come about for certain problems I have with my CODWW X5 server. A vast majority of them have been answered, however I still have a few that noone else seems to have or at least has not posted about that I can find.

1: Forcecrouch on spawn does not apparently work on my server no matter whether it is set to 0 or 1.
2: We are unable to diffuse betties. I have set the percentages at each possibility and the betty always explodes when attempting to diffuse it. I have tried all three stances in various combinations as well. The timer and sound effects work fine though.
3: The range finder does not show up for any weapons regardless of the setting. I know this one works because when I went to Joker's test server it was working fine there. Is there something else outside of the configs to check?
4: All maps show up as "a custom map is next" when using the next map message on the bottom of the screen. I was able to get the map names to show with some editting including the new maps, but it still say a stock map is a custom map.
5: Invisible spawn protection ceases to work after a suicide.
6: When spawning at the beginning of a map in a parachute a player has a random chance of "dying in the call of Duty" or getting a "RIP" message. I tried heights from 2000-200 but it still occurs. After this whenever they spawn they are not invisible.
7: If two or more players on the same IP connect to our server one will always get stuck at the weapon class select screen and have to /reconnect. It seems to be first come, first serve with this. This occurs rarely for single connections, but it is constant with dual connections from the same IP.
8: The ability to change class while in the middle of playing seems to disappear. This has been talked about, but I cannot find a fix if it was given.
9: The ingame chat starts at the position set in the config file, but after hitting tab it moves back to it's standard spot. This was also talked about, but I have not seen a fix if it exists.

Extra info: We are using the z_tc5.iwd file that comes with the April 14th release with the only thing changed in it is the ability to reload in mid clip. I edited the parachute portion of the X5 mod as outlined in another post on this forum. No custom maps are in rotation yet to tamper. We are also using the X5 files gained from joining Joker's test server a couple weeks ago. The weapons loadout was left as "stock" in the weaponcontrol.cfg file. We do wish to limit certain things, but I wonder if this may cause some of our problems, so I have not touched it yet.

We are a tactical realism clan which attempts to have realistic weapons fire and realistic battle movements. This includes the ability to run from fire in the heat of battle. The X5 mod is the best tool I found to moderate this and help our admins be able to play instead of dealing with rule breakers all night. We also use X4 on our COD4 server, but we didn't start with it until December 2008 when all of the bugs seemed to have been dealt with. We have no problems with X4 and are looking forward to v3.  :wink:

I'm sorry if this post seems a bit much, but I wanted to get it all in one spot instead of spamming over and over. I have been noticing the slow down in posts for X5 support so I had to wonder was support waning or am I the only one not figuring out how to fix these quirks. So I took the plunge. Thank you for your help in advance!

No, support is not falling to the way side, unfortunately for most of the Crew, real life is kicking our a$$es at the moment.

Can you PM me your servers login info so I can take a look at the CFG files and some of the GSC files please?

Mate, you are not alone.  We have similar issues mainly with the Class/Weapon select problem when connecting.  ie Not getting it at all and have to leave the game and rejoin.  Even then, it does not fix it sometimes.  Last night we found it happened consistentaly when running the custom map "Matmata - final".


Hang in there - I'm sure Joker and the guys are working on it.  Its the best mod imho so stick with it.

As i mentioned in the previous post, check out Matmata Final to easily reproduce the Select Weapons on join problem.

Well, I hope I didn't offend anyone.  :oops: I just ran out of options and time, so I decided to post. In no way was it meant to be like a "get ur butts in gear" type post. Being just the admin of a small 40 person clan with 3 servers is rough enough for me. I can't imagine the pressure from a whole community. Anyways, I'm getting offtopic. I PMed you the info Joker. And thanks again to you and the guys behind the scenes!  8)

Indeed it is the best mod for my clan as well. That is why we are looking forward to some final tweaks.  :lol:

I have posted a few times since then, but it seems that no one is going to address my problem.  As stated in an earlier post, "We had to go back to the Version1 of the X5 Mod.  We had no choice as players refused to play on our server if they could not see where the enemy was attacking them from.  I was just wondering if this problem with the enemy not being displayed while shooting, is just NOT a priority fix or not?
If not, we will just turn our server back to COD 4 and setup some mod on it.  I am not trying to be a pain, it is just been a long time since any reply was made to any of my posts.

I did not mean to be disrepectfull and I am using the xtreme mod, because its the best mod.
I realise this is all volonteerwork, but i get the impression that everything has been slowed down..

anyhow here a couple of questions:

-sniper mode with xtreme v2 => i get people who spawn at other side
-People who shoot should turn up on mini map, is this so?
-Loading time for weapons takes long... is this better now?
-The big bomb like COD4 X4, is this coming?

I do not think anything is wrong so to say.  Joker DID say he had a lot of things going on at the moment and would be looking through the postings.  He may have read yours and saw someone replied.  You had not posted after that so maybe you had figured it out.  I believe that Lothegard answered part D of your post leaving A,B and C.  Try posting it again and see what happens.

I have told most of you, and I believe posted somewhere, that Chiblue has picked it up and is running with it to fix the issues.  Which means ALOT of recoding.  But that is ok, you guys think it is dead, then I'll tell Chiblue to stop ;)

Hi All,

First and foremost thank you to the team here at PST and anyone that contributed to the creation of X5!  We at {SKA} have nothing but great things to say about the mod and as with any complex piece of technology there are going to be teething problems :)  

We love the mod and will do anything we can to help with positive feedback or observations that will help the folks that were kind enough to provide us with such a masterpiece get the kinks worked out.   :)  



I cant say I have seen any images of what is being seen on a players  console when we see Connection Interrupts on the Loadouts and thought this might be some what useful to those having to work on these issues.  I hope this helps and please forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere in the thread.  :D

To add a bit more detail on the environment at the time,

-Running an x5 mod with custom  split screen sniper maps  all posted as working well with X5 by Joker

-we have from about 2 players and up in the server at the time.

-running "The Company" Custom Sniper Rifle Weapons Mod

-Team Deathmatch game type

-limited weapons classes to the 4 rifles available in The Company Mod within the map rotation config and also weapons contol config.

-The interrupts occur not only upon a player joining but upon map rotation as well.

-I have noticed that when the load outs take more than about 10 seconds or so the moment you select the class it causes the connection interrupt and the console message below.    Based on what I experienced the item "unknown UI execnow in block" is what is displayed at the time of interrupt.

Our biggest focus in X5v3.0 will be the complete fix for the custom loudout problems (which means a total re-write) -- This has and will take some time.

We do have a todo list for other fixes, changes, and additions

would you advice people to still use xtreme version 1.0 or are is that not recomended?

For us we use basic features of xtreme, for example no medikit , no chutes,basic loadout,  but we like the little additional things like the bullet holes, blood spatter, anouncements of 5minutes, 2 minutes...

But is version 1 still recomended according to you guys to work with patch 1.4?

I run X5 v1 at the moment due to the facts with V2 we suffer badly with hanging on the loadout screen (this is the only reason we have had to stay on v1).

I have had no issues with v1 and patch 1.4, it works like a charm so i cannot see you having any problems m8.

Sometimes i do have a error message on loading new maps: 'exceptional error' or something like that.
But i suppose that is more the map.

For older maps who need  iwd in mod map, you guys place that in xtreme map?

Do u mean does the map iwd file go into the mod folder?

If so, only place the map iwd file in mods folder if your server is Linux. If your server is Windows place the map iwd file in the map folder with the ff files.

If thats not what u mean could you be a bit more specific plz?  :)

As for crashing on new maps, i take it you mean u get the error "unhandled exception caught"? this is down to the game being buggy and crashing sometimes when you dont have a map that the server changes to. On reconnect you dl the map okay, this also seems to happen when a map has been updated and you have the "older" version. Nothing mappers or modders can do i think its just down to the game, i have heard though that treyarch have fixed this for patch 1.5. However whether they have and whether there will be new bugs we will have to wait and see.

New server went up last night for CODWaW with a redone version of X5v2
