I've been trying to follow this tutorial in order to get rid of the cod logo on the menu screen. I understand what I'm suppose to do but when ever i get to the part in PS to select channels, there is no Alpha channel, only channels are ..... RGB, Red, Green, Blue.

I open PS
File>New
-settings are-

512x512
Resolution 72 pi
Color Mode: RGB Color 8-bit
Background Contents: Transparent (I've also tried with the "Background color", and filled with mid-grey like the tut states)

Then i flatten the image, save to dds, covert to iwi, and it always shows up with the color filled square instead of transparent.

-nvidia dds settings-
DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha (Ive also tried this set at DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha, and that didn't work)
2D texture, No Mipmap

Im using PScS2, windows XP 64bit

Any suggestions on where I should start investigating?

Nevermind I figured out what I need to do (at least what worked for me) When it comes time to save the image, instead of FLATTEN image I would use MERGE VISIBLE, and it worked like a charm. The transparent parts would stay and not get filled in with white. If MERGE VISIBLE does not appear then you probably need to just add a new transparent layer and delete the background image (if any). Thanks for the great tutorial  :)

OK I have my logo.iwi and put it in the mod.iwd then placed it on the server and redirect and restarted the server. However when I try to join the server it says it failed to load "logo".

Here are my dds and iwi files incase someone here has a clue what I did wrong:

http://www.loganlink.com/logo.dds

http://www.loganlink.com/logo.iwi

Just tried to use our clan logo as the background image for the compass with the same result. I followed the tutorial to the letter with no luck.

I did, that's what I meant when I said I put them in the mod.iwd.

Ah I figured out what was wrong. I was using the dds2iwi converter for cod4 not the older one for cod2. I didn't realize there was a difference in the iwi format from one game to the next but apparently there is.   :)
