just another thought, if its possible, maybe make it so if you throw a grenade at a wall and it goes off it actually makes a hole you would be able to get thru.

cod2 does not have destructable background / scenery on the maps, so as far as i know, this is impossible to do.


EDIT:

let me be a little more specific on this, having something blow up in a map is one thing, my statement was following the request made. to have a grenade leave a players hand and do damage to a house is another, or having a bullet leave the players weapon and make a landmine or a tripwire explode and do damage is also another story, as far as we know, this just isn't possible.

I just figured there might be a way to script it so if a grenade or bazooka went off on a wall that the building might switch to another piece of the map that showed a hole...i guess that would have to be something the map creator would have to do.  as i dont script or map i have no clue.

I read somewhere in a mapping tut that it is possible to make destructible  elements  in a map using triggers, but it has to be coded into the map from the beginning, its not something that can just be added.

mp_anomaly  --  Has a hole that opens in the road after an airstrike revealing the entrance to a tunnel.  This 39MB map also has a boat that you can ride and a jeep that you can drive. I wrecked the jeep.  Only runs with extreme+ v1.5 or on a stock server.

mp_chelm --  Has a bomb in the church floor that destroys the floor.

mp_commando1 -- Has a gate that explodes, breakable windows, doors tha open, a moving drawbridge, and vehicles that explode when you shoot the gas tank.

mp_provence -- Has barrels that explode when you shoot them, and a bomb in the bank.

And don't forget the bridge on mp_bridge. In s&d it is destroyed in small pieces after a huge explosion.

These effects are built into the maps.  Making extreme add effects to maps is likely impossible.  

So everybody learn to make maps and lets make eXtreme+ maps!!!
