Pizza?  :) MMMMM But what about the beer to wash it all down with? *L*

Go back to the FTP, and download the ModWarfareX.zip and get rid of the X4_mod_ff.zip

As previously stated, was missing files.

Now, unzip and place the ModWarfareX folder in your COD4/Mods folder.  Then open up the ModWarfareX folder, and doubleclick the makeMod.bat

WOOHOO -- you are not running the bat and creating the mod.ff

COD4/Mods/ModWarfareX/english/localizedstrings <-------- This is where all your string files are.

So, let me get you my address so you can send that pizza over *LMAO*

hmm looks like some info there now doesn't it? Jesus keep on reading!

Well the photo tutorial hasn't come to life yet.  Honestly though, you really don't need it.
Everything you need is in that post that PvtWhoOkid linked to.

Download the modwarfareX file.
Create a folder under your /Mods folder called "modwarfareX' and unzip the contents here.

It all depends now on what you wish to change/edit/enhance/etc.

Granted some of the posts in that thread may not understand until you discover the same problem on your own.

Try this: (you must have the mod tools released by IW )
Download the modwarfareX file
Do as I suggested above about file placement
Navagate to the modwarefareX folder, select english, then localizedstrings.
In this folder, scroll down to 'mod.str'
Using a text editor, edit the contents BETWEEN the Quotes.
Save the file, then run the makemod.bat.

yes you will have some errors, thats where the link above comes to play.  You'll simply have to move a few files from the modwarfareX location to is corrisponding location in your /raw directory that was generated when you installed the mod tools.

Once you have a successful makemod.bat run, copy the newly created mod.ff file to your fs_game directory. (as well as your redirect) While in game, watch for your changes under the ammo/health bar.

My appolgies to the eXtreme team, this wasn't ment to be a full on tut.. just a place to start a guy off.

Would rather do pics for the upcoming X4 v1.1 -- as the mod.ff compiler will be different ;)

To quote my late grandfather:

"Words are for Boys, Pictures are for Girls"

Of course pictures of girls are something else!

Nothing personal Kammo  :)

I'm sure if you follow the errors on mod.ff compiler people will figure it out.  Either way, everyone learns somehow.

LOL thanks lot Wannabe,
Sorry guys i'm a visual kinda person.... I do look for pics, harder to get confused with codes and junk going on when you can "see" what is being done.
I hear ya on the waiting for the new version Joker, completely understandable. Just saw the post were you said you were gonna do that and that was a long time ago and figured I just wasn't finding it.

Wannabe, very good instructions man, now that I can follow without a problem, I know MOST of the people that come to these forums for instructions on how to do something with a mod are mostly experts and have been doing this for years even on COD4 even though it came out a few months ago, but I am NOT and really like when someone can give good instructions on how to do something and not leave anything to the imagination expecting that everyone is a pro and can figure it out when It comes to this... That is all I ask, and thank you for being nice about it!!!

 Thanks guys!

I have the game installed and the tools, so I don't have to reinstall the game and tools again, when it goes wrong  , I created a folder called COD4, then copied the Call Of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare folder to this folder.

Inside the Mods folder I created a folder called "mod" without the quotes.
Inside this folder I have copied the ff folder and the iwd folder, there is also the makemod.cmd file.
I have put the 7za.exe file in the bin folder.
I have edited the makemod.cmd file so it reads:

set XDIR_TOOLS=C:COD4\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare

When I double click the makemod.cmd file I get this error:

MAKEMOD.CMD -- revision 1.6
Created by PatmanSan (eXtreme+ Support Crew)
Please visit www.mycallofduty.com for updates and support.

Setting up environment ...
Checking files and folders ...

ERROR: Missing important folders in C:COD4\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\
Please install or reinstall the mod tools prior to executing this script.
If the indicated path is wrong, edit the variable XDIR_TOOLS in this script.
Press any key to continue . . .

I read OMCWannabe's post saying:

yes you will have some errors, thats where the link above comes to play. You'll simply have to move a few files from the modwarfareX location to is corrisponding location in your /raw directory that was generated when you installed the mod tools.

That link dosn't work now, could someone please tell me what files you have to copy to the raw directory to get it to work?

I'm using the v2.0 raw files.
