file path for custom maps and the iwd's ??????
« on: February 10, 2009, 11:15:44 pm »
Sorry for the noobish question,  but this is driving me nuts.

I have tried creating usermaps both on the serer and redirect and placed the map folders in it with the files, just like in cod4. Hangs the server every time.

tried floating the iwd's in the usermaps, then in the x5 mod file.. same result hangs the client side game every time or gives iwd error..

So I give, I will ask the noob question.

what is the file path to put the custom maps  and their iwd files on the server and redirect?

any help would be appreciated, I see that some of you guys got this working.

Just to understand this correctly, the .iwd files go in the fs_game folder, and the .ff files (in their map directory) go inside of the usermaps folder?  Does the usermaps folder on the server go inside of the mods folder or inside of the codww folder?

Finally got it to work, you have to run it the way we did before they fixed cod4 also

on your server

codwaw/usermaps/ put folder nameed mp_name of map here with the load.ff and map.ff and localized.ff files in it

codwaw/mods/x5/ map_iwd goes here.

on your redirect..

usermaps/ put folder nameed mp_name of map here with the load.ff and map.ff and localized.ff files in it

mods/x5/ map_iwd goes here.

Keep in mind not all maps are going to work with x5 you will hit the dreaded exceeds 400fx error here and there. Not jokers fault, stupid trisuckarch put in a cap.

Hope this helps some.

or inside of the codww folder

Hmmmm...for some reason I can't get them to load.  I had the usermaps directory in the codww folder.  When trying to load the map, it says that the map can't be found.  The map directories themselves have two .ff files.  The iwd files reside within the fs_game folder.

I did not put the localized .ff files in there. Perhaps I should have. I came across another thread on this that mentioned only two .ff files.  I'll put the localized ff files in the directories and see if that fixes it.

COD5/mods/mp_x5/ <---------- Map IWD's here

COD5/usermaps/map_name_folder/ <-------------- Map FF's here

Each map, must have its own folder within the usermaps folder
