eXtreme+ Donation Subscription?
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:17:45 pm »
At one time, there was a discussion going around in the forums about adding the option of a Subscribing donation?

I have looked into it, and I have to pre-set the amounts, which means I need to make a few buttons, but no idea what amounts to make them for.

Feedback is more then welcome :)

Joker say:
about adding the option of a Subscribing donation?

Will she be entitled to a special status to the person who signs up?

I don't say this for my own interest (I'd always donations) but my question is to know the basic idea, the design could be the button

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like the VIP section of the RGN site :)

Ok, what if we do this then, a monthy Subscription gets you the following:

-- Supporter Status -- we put you in a group, color your name, give ya a rank, give you access to a private hidden section of the forums.

-- The Private hidden section of forums -- Access to any and all Beta's, Get in on special Crew discussions and help work out issues and problems WITH the Crew, etc, etc , etc.

-- Password's and IP's to the Crews many Testing servers

What else?  And those interested, what do you think?  $10 a month?  $15? or $5?

All ideas and suggestions are welcome guys and gals :)

Joker,

For what all you described above, I think $10 is reasonable..

my humble opinion...

What I will say now is only speculation...............

How many  members statuts ?

Exemple:

1- Supporter: same you say "we put you in a group, color your name, give ya a rank, give you access to a private hidden section of the forums."
Only 5 USD.......... It is not even taken a packet of cigarettes and the member is truly recognized as a supporter (in my opinion it is important .psychologically)

2- Beta tester: same as you say:
"The Private hidden section of forums
-- Access to any and all Beta's, Get in on special Crew discussions and help work out issues and problems WITH the Crew, etc, etc , etc.
-- Password's and IP's to the Crews many Testing servers
"

I think the most important section, we need members involved, motivated and truly recognized as.
Having the opportunity to participate in a project, before the first test must also qualify.
Create test servers takes time and money.
That is why I would see a contribution of 15  USD.

I have a story to tel you:
I founded Corp'S Server there is now a little over two years.
Since the beginning, I wanted to support me alone all the costs it imposed in the sense that I did not allow me to ask for a contribution.
Webserver, domain, Teamspeak, gameservers and time to work  to admin this (   my wife almost left me) me cost about 1000 USD per year.
All members were playing, the servers were always full (R6 RavenShield) but nobody thought to help me financially, not even for the adminserver ... on the contrary, they are allowed to criticize.
At that time, I mapped to R6 RavenShield therefore did not have much time to play
Until the day I had the head exploded and I said: STOP

I asked each financial assistance and motivation to help in the work that provides the administration of a website and server games.
Some members are quit, but remained the best and now everything works perfectly .... less stress, more fun...for me and everyone.

I know of course that this is not the case here, everyone involved has seen first.

But when I think that Joker spends his time for the community and especially for all of us, I think it deserves 15 USD per month for the privilege to stand here and be able to develop, test is not a excessive amount.

This is only my personal opinion and I would not under any circumstances supposed to be right

Thank you for giving me read to the end and sorry for my bad english
Regards

That's an interesting, but in my opinion, making promises of what could  happen after a "subscription" require to have things to offer at subsriber, so more work for extreme crew, except if u think that u already have things to offer....Making  a donation just offer the way at the donater to help and you don't really attempt for a return. I think the question is where u wanna go?

Salut (Hey) Fox  :D  :D

This is why I specify in my first response, with or without, this does not prevent me to make a donation ... as I already told Joker: work merit pay   and it deserves

Yah I'd add increments of 5 starting at $5 and going to $20 Joker.   If people want to donate more they could always just do a general donation non-subscription.   Just my two cents.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, seems like we have mixed opinions so far :)  Which is very very good, just means everyone feels comfortable enough to have a mature discussion :P

@Joker, go with your plan from your 2nd post.  If not everyone will have different opinions and nothing will get done.
