[Release]LR Sniper Rifles
« on: February 18, 2009, 10:19:08 am »
I hope this makes things a little easier for all those trying to mod sniper rifles...

Enclosed is an iwd for each type you can just drop in your mod folder right along side the mod you are
using. However, please remember to remove any scoped sniper rifle files that exist in your mod iwd.

I also enclosed just the raw files which if your handy you can drop into your mod's iwd to reduce files.

The three types of setups include for the following rifles....

Springfield 1903
Karbiner 98k
Mosin Nagant
Type99 Arisaka

Realism

*This set works as close to real life as possible with long range ability and all that extra ammo (200
rounds) you snipers like.

NoSway

*Kind of a hybrid. The rifles are close to real but do not sway or have round decay.

Dream

*The Dream series is probably the set most will use. They contain the works. No Sway, No Decay,
Reload while in Scopes, etc.... Basically a Sniper's Wet Dream...

Any chance of getting the LR rifles for the PTRS41 and the M1 Garand?

Some of the guys on our servers are afficianados of WWII and are all worked up the rifles are so limited.

Also some people (including myself) have been disheartened that the G43, SVT40, and semi-auto FG42 were not made sniper weapons

Is there a way to set those up for sniper use (zoom scopes, standard sniper scope reticule and magnification)?
I understand that they would be still be under the Rifleman category... but can they be made to behave like LR sniper rifles?

Thanks

I chose to use the Dream model and wanted to put some sway into the rifles.  I changed this setting..   adsIdleAmount\40   on the Bolts and then replaced the appropriate weapon files in the original z_tc5 iwd file that was included in the 1.0 X5 release.  I then uploaded it to the server.   For some reason changing the line did not add any sway to the rifles.  Did I not change the right setting?

I took the weapon files from the TC_Dream iwd in the update he just published this morning, changed the settings in those (4) bolt rifle files, and then replaced the kar98k_scoped_mp, mosinrifle_scoped_mp, springfield_scoped_mp and type99rifle_scoped_mp files in the z_tc5 iwd with the new weapon files.  I changed all four files to this setting...   adsIdleAmount\40    I uploaded the new z_tc5 iwd to both servers and restarted.  Still no sway in the rifles.

The only weapon files i have in my mp_x5.iwd/weapons/mp folders are - airstrike_mp, napalm_mp, nuke_mp and springfield_scoped_mp files.  All of the rest of the weapon files are in the z_tc5 iwd.  Whats interesting is that the ONLY scoped rifle that I can actually adjust the range on is the Springfield. The other three rifle scopes don't have adjustable zoom range.

Should I move all of the weapon files out of the z_tc5 iwd into the main mp_x5?  Or should this also work the way I have it?

Actually I believe he just has to edit both of these lines... If you don't have a speed then it doesn't matter what the heck you set the amount at. Basicly the car will not go without gas...

He also does not have to set every weapon in the series either. They are their own separate entities. If he is just doing scoped rifles that's all he needs to do...

Yes, Joker I hear you muttering "Just make a tutorial Buster" lol!

Before I download, is my assumption that this is not going offer bolts/snipers only upon loadout, correct?

You are correct.  This file contains weapon modifications to only the Bolt Sniper rifles.  Thats it.

Do I have things buggered up on my end, or is the Springfield the only scoped rifle at this time that has adjustable zoom in/out capabilities?  All the rest of the scoped bolts have static zoom level set, until further development?   At least that is the way it is for me.

Weapon Loadout is done by Chiblue, and is in Testing :)
