After waw 1.5 update the server now has a spike.
« on: July 19, 2009, 08:14:26 am »
Hi all.

I have an issue with our server after update 1.5 .

There seems to be a cycleing pulse on the server after updateing it.
Its like a momentery lag spike that everyone has but never had before the update.
Which happens every couple of seconds.

Im not sure if this is pb or something else but it wasnt there before the update.
But the server isnt running at all well after 1.5.

Doe's anyone else have this and if you have how did you cure the spikeing.
I dont even know whats making this happen but its doing it to all people on the server.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Ok ive found out what the issue was.

After most of our clan patching to 1.5 we all got a weird lag spike or pausing.
So after giving joker our server configs and command line to check he couldnt get it to do the same thing as our server.

But before i had news from him i had tryed everything to work this out.

And got to a dead end and thought a bit more.
I decided to remove the game from my pc and re-install it from fresh.
I patched the game in this order, 1.2-1.4-1.5.
Once i did this i started the game before putting my profiles back.
I chose a profile after login then exited the game.
Put my profiles back and didnt update pb and started the game again.

Well apart from the lag spikes everyone is getting at the begining of every map the issue with the long spiking has now gone.

So the patch had an effect on at least six of us in one clan.
Which to be fair is odd if anything.

So we know the server is still ok and smooth as it was before.

Thanks Joker for you time and effert on this issue.
And for going through our configs and testing them out. 8)
